Use New file... to create a new file for storing your entries.
Use Open file... to open a file already stored somewhere (for example, an old data file created with the Classic version)

TypeIt4Me stores its entries in one or more files which you can name as you like and store anywhere you want on your hard disk. I store my TypeIt4Me files in a folder inside the Documents folder in my home area as shown below.

Use Default file any time you want to switch from one set of entries to another:
The selected file will then be used in any applications that are not specifically associated with their own abbreviations file.
